IMS ExpertServices was asked to locate a cellular telecommunications expert with experience in the physical design and construction of cellular phones for a patent infringement case. Two large consumer electronics manufacturers were involved in a dispute over the design of an internal cellular phone antenna.

The patented invention was a built-in antenna radiation element having a conductor capable of being electrically connected to a power feed circuit provided on the circuit substrate and fixed on the internal wall of the casing. This achieves a built-in antenna with high gain which occupies a small area of the portable cellular radio.
