A tool that enables lawyers to search a database
of case studies and related expert descriptions was launched
this month by IMS ExpertServices as part of its expanding website
devoted to the retention and use of expert witnesses.
The new Case Study Search function allows attorneys
to search reports of actual cases in which IMS ExpertServices
has provided expert witnesses and litigation consultants. The
database also includes descriptions of experts who were presented
on each case.
Search "package design," for example,
and find a case study about a trademark infringement dispute
involving container labeling machines. The same search also retrieves
descriptions of two experts in forensic economics who have worked
in related cases.
Users can search the database by practice area,
industry, technology, or keyword. Alternatively, users can browse
an alphabetical keyword index. The broad range of categories
include: Computing, Economic Damages, Intellectual Property,
Life Sciences, Technology, and Telecommunications.
"We are excited about the launch of this new
tool that allows attorneys to see examples of the kind of experts
we can provide, especially in very narrow fields of interest,"
said Mike Wein, CEO and founder of IMS ExpertServices™.
