IMS Ranks in the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies for 5 Years

During a tumultuous decade for the legal industry, IMS ExpertServices has shown consistent growth and success. For the fifth year in a row, IMS was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies in America.

IMS’s growth can be attributed to its unique business model that sets it apart from expert registries. By focusing on expert search and consistently providing high-quality customer service, IMS has grown to include clients at 97 of the AmLaw 100 and more than half of the Fortune 100.

This recognition comes while many other companies struggle. In March of this year, expert services and consulting firm LECG Corporation was liquidated due to unmanageable debt. About the same time a year earlier, Round Table Group was purchased by Thomson Reuters. Several other expert witness firms are holding steady in their niche markets but are not seeing excessive growth. As the largest expert provider for complex commercial litigation, IMS is the only expert search firm recognized by Inc. Magazine.

IMS’s increase of 55% over three years is uncommon in the legal industry to say the least. Even among the AmLaw 100, most law firms are not seeing growth. According to the 2011 survey, only four of the AmLaw 100 saw revenue increases of more than 15%. Quinn Emmanuel tops the list with a 31.4% revenue increase and Baker & Hostetler, Cahill Gordon, and Jackson Lewis complete the small group of growing firms.

There are well over 6.5 million privately held companies in the United States, with nearly 850,000 of those in the professional, scientific and technical services industry. The companies recognized by Inc. Magazine are among the top seven percent of all companies in the country.
