Electromechanical Device Expert

Case Description:

An electromechanical device expert with automotive engineering knowledge was required for a breach of warranty case. The plaintiff, an automobile manufacturer, contracted with the defendant to produce power window regulators used in the rear windows of the plaintiff's vehicles. Certain models experienced electromechanical failure, requiring that the electric motor powering the windows to be replaced with a lower torque motor.

IMS ExpertServices was asked to locate an expert in electromechanical devices with automotive engineering experience. The expert was needed to opine on the significance of differences in the engineering specs for the electromechanical device versus the actual input of power the motor received during operation in determining the cause of failure.
