Forensic Auditing Expert in Professional Liability

Case Description:

A forensic auditing expert was requested for a professional malpractice complaint alleging breach of contract and negligence. The plaintiff was a national shipping and distribution company with a large fleet of trucks. After engaging the defendant, a regional accounting firm, to conduct a financial review and audit of its operations, the plaintiff discovered employee theft and fraud which should have come to light with the audit. Plaintiff claimed the defendant failed to exercise proper care, ensure the accuracy of financial statements, and apply GAAP standards in its auditing work.

IMS ExpertServices provided forensic auditing experts whose expertise was derived from extensive experience and education.
