Performance Analysis Expert in ASME Standards
A performance analysis expert in ASME standards was requested for a case alleging false advertising. Both parties were manufactures of consumer goods and produced competing products in the consumer home products industry. Plaintiffs alleged that the defendant made fraudulent claims in its advertising regarding superior product performance based on aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.
IMS ExpertServices was asked to locate a performance analysis expert to perform forensic analysis of both products and determine whether defendant's claims were fraudulent. Specifically the client requested a mechanical engineering expert who was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, or ASME. The expert was to consult on ASME standards for the performance of consumer goods of this nature.
