User Interface Expert in Handheld Devices
A user interface expert was sought for a patent infringement case involving the stylus and touch screen technology widely used in handheld devices such as PDAs. The patent involved human computer interface technology for using the stylus as a user interface device to initiate commands or input information. Defendants were allegedly infringing on the patent by manufacturing consumer electronics in the form of handheld PDA devices using touch screen gesture recognition as a method for inputting data.
The client contacted IMS ExpertServices to search for user interface experts with extensive experience in hardware and software components for consumer electronics. The expert was expected to have forensic engineering experience and industry experience in mobile computing.
