We are taking a break from our typical blog posts to take a moment to celebrate an IMS achievement. For the fifth year in a row, IMS ExpertServices has just been recognized by Inc. Magazine’s list of the fastest growing private companies in America.
Ten years ago, Inc. Magazine began compiling a list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in America based on an increase in revenue over three years. In 2007, the list expanded to 5000 and for the last five years, IMS ExpertServices has been on this list. IMS is an expert search firm that connects highly qualified experts with the attorneys who need them.
This recognition comes while many other companies struggle: LECG Corporation was liquidated due to unmanageable debt, two expert providers were recently purchased by Thomson Reuters, and several other expert witness firms are holding steady in their niche markets but are not seeing excessive growth. As the largest expert provider for complex commercial litigation, IMS is the only expert search firm recognized by Inc. Magazine.
IMS’s increase of 55% over three years is uncommon in the legal industry to say the least. Even among the AmLaw 100, most law firms are not seeing growth. According to the 2011 American Lawyer survey, only four of the 100 firms saw revenue increases of more than 15% in the last year.
Within our local community, IMS was one of five companies that were recognized by Inc. Magazine. In addition to being listed in the magazine, these companies received some press coverage from the Pensacola News Journal and radio coverage from News Radio 1620 and National Public Radio.
Rick Harper, the Director of the University of West Florida Office of Economic Development and Engagement, described IMS as a driving force behind the creation of new jobs in the Pensacola area.
Why We Excel
Unlike an expert registry, we search to find the exact expert needed for a case. We’ve done this for years, gotten it down to an art form, and now have a base of satisfied repeat customers. It doesn’t hurt that we provide the search services at no risk and we handle all the paperwork, either.
Tell us: Do you think growth in the legal industry is turning around? Will we be seeing more successful law firms and legal services firms in the next few years?
